Dear Parents and Carers,

We break up on Friday 16th July and will return on the 2nd September, when we'll be delighted to welcome your children back to their new classes.

We hope that the return to school will be a return to the normal routine as it was before the pandemic. As such, the school will revert to a 9.00 am arrival for all children and a 3.00 pm collection at the end of the day. To ease congestion, the Dalgleish Street gate will be open at the start and end of school, so if it's more convenient for where you live, you can bring your child into school and collect them by that route. We are also delighted to welcome you back onto the school site should you need our help and advice. We will no longer be working in class bubbles and whole-school activites such as assemblies will return. The children will also eat together at lunchtimes and will play together at playtime.

However, we know that infection rates are rising, and there is a contingency plan in place should restrictions be re-imposed. You can find that HERE.

We have been asked to remind you that, should you be travelling abroad over the summer then you must follow the quarantine guidelines depending on the status of the country or countries to which you have travelled. Should you need to quarantine, in order to ensure your child is back in school on 2nd September, you must have returned to England by 22nd August. Please check government guidelines before you travel.

At the end of this term, sadly, we say goodbye to two of our longest-serving members of staff, Trish and Ruth, who have seventy years of working at Sir William Burrough between them! We thank them for their many years of tireless commitment and dedication to the youngest children in our school, and wish them both a long and happy retirement.

So now, as the holidays approach, we wish you and your loved ones an enjoyable and healthy summer, and a very happy Eid to all our families and friends who are celebrating next week.

With warmest wishes and huge appreciation for all your continuing support,

Avril, Staff and Governors.
